self care is watching those all gameplay & cutscenes videogame compilations on youtube in order to simulate the experience of playing games you dont have the money for
me, sitting down to watch 6-8 full hours of fun content while someone infinitely better than me at videogames handles all the hard parts:
wow can u imagine living somewhere where winter doesn’t exist. the amount of things I could accomplish without seasonal depression halting my production for a solid 5-7 months wow. Wow
honestly where is my “90s gothic” post? the 90s were perfect bizarre horror fodder to begin with
-The AOL trial disc that won’t stop appearing in your mailbox. You take it out and crack it in half before tossing it in the trash, but another appears in its place the next day.
-The nightmarish sound of your dial up modem as it tries to connect to the internet. Has it been thirty minutes? An hour? Six days? You can’t remember.
-You blow into video game cartridges but you don’t know why. You wonder how so much dust and pet hair could possibly get trapped inside such a small space but you just keep blowing.
-The new CD in your walkman starts to skip. It has only been in there for minutes, but the scratches apparent on its reflective surface say otherwise.
-The newest boy band is coming to town soon. The posters all guarantee that it will be “the hottest concert in town”, but you look at those white, smiling faces and realized you can’t tell them apart. It’s the same teen, rebranded with a different edgy look five times over.
Honestly I am not even making this shit up this is just how it was
listen if i wanted to struggle with some dumb task and fail a dozen times for bullshit reasons only to get some underwhelming reward once i finally get it right i would just live my actual life and not play video games smh
pls love urself
Oh and if you want to play something like Dark Souls? Don’t feel bad for using guides or looking up walkthroughs. I’ve done that to find specific items, or when something is so bullshit and obscure that I need help for it (I’m pretty damn good at it, too.)
And guess what? My experience didn’t diminish at all. If anything it helped me.
Use guides. Use cheats. Use item duplication glitches. Clip through the floor going 30 miles a second. Just have fun
