I am a hockey blog, but tbh this the best Gritty take I’ve seen. Cities should just have monsters, sports or no sports.

we could just be the monsters

just be that person in your city who goes out and wears a monster costume in public on regular days of the year

Towns in Japan just have their own mascot superheroes. To my knowledge, there was no reason, no excuse, somebody just went, “hey, wouldn’t it be cool if towns and cities across the country just had their own superhero mascots?” And local governments across the country said “Yes. Yes it would.” And then they just did it.
